AUGUST 4, 2009 –
First day to circulate petitions
OCTOBER 26, 2009-
First day to file petitions in the office of the County Clerk
NOVEMBER 2,
2009 - Last day to file petitions in the office of the County Clerk
All Petitions filed by persons waiting in line at the office
of the County Clerk as of 8:30 A.M. on the first day for filing, October
26, 2009, shall be considered as having been simultaneously filed.
Petitions, filed by mail, which are received in the office of the
County Clerk in the first mail delivery or pickup on the first day of
filing shall be considered as having been simultaneously filed as of
8:30 A.M. All petitions
received thereafter shall be considered as having been filed in the
order of actual receipt.
Whenever two or more petitions are simultaneously filed for the same
office, by candidates of the same party or independent candidates, the

through Friday. On Monday,
November 2, 2009, the last day for filing petitions, the office will be
open until 5:00 P.M.

Petition packets for candidates that file with the County Clerk's
office are now available for the
November 2, 2010 General Election.

a "Statement of Economic Interest"
All petitions filed by persons waiting in line at the
office of the County Clerk as of 8:30 A.M. on the first day for filing,
June 14, 2010, shall be considered as having been simultaneously filed.
Petitions, filed by mail, which are received in the office of the
County Clerk in the first mail delivery or pick up on the first day of
filing shall be considered as having been simultaneously filed as of
8:30 A.M. All petitions
received thereafter shall be considered as having been filed in the
order of actual receipt.
Whenever two or more petitions are simultaneously filed for the same
office, the County Clerk shall break ties and determine the order of
filing by means of a lottery.
The office hours are from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.,
Monday through Friday. On
Monday, June 21, 2010, the last day for filing petitions, the office
will be open until 5:00 P.M.

To become a
write-in candidate, you must file a "Declaration of Intent to be a
Write-In" form with the County Clerk at least 61 days prior to an
election.
If an objection
to a candidate's nominating papers or petitions for an office is
sustained after the 61st day before the election, he or she can file a
notarized declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate for that
office with the County Clerk no later than 7 days prior to the election.

for candidates who file this form will be counted.
